Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage Attacked by Poachers

It is with great sadness we received the news of a cowardly attack on the Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage a few days ago by a group of poachers that left the staff shaken and resulted in the death of two rhino orphans.

This terrible tragedy has stricken us all, especially as the rhino orphanage is close to our hearts, but it has also left us with a tremendous resolve to do all we can to help Thula Thula recover and continue their irreplaceable work in protecting the rhino population. It has also brought into focus the bravery of those on the front lines who risk their lives to protect the animals in their care, sometimes in overwhelming circumstances.

Rhino Flops was proud to offer a donation of $400 toward this effort. You can do your part by visiting the emergency donation page at https://www.generosity.com/emergencies-fundraising/emergency-security-funds-for-rhino-orphanage or our Giving page for more information on how to get involved.

Besides emergency funding to get the security program up and running again, Thula Thula needs support to finance a longer term protection umbrella that will keep this security in place for at least a year.

In addition, we pledge to donate $5 from the sale of every Rhino Flop from now through March 7th, 2017 to the Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage emergency or general fund.

We need to stand up and prevent further ravages to the helpless inhabitants of our planet. They cannot survive without our help.

Yabonga.
